Putting focus on natural light
Allow the light from outside to spill into your space, promotes feelings of well-being. Try to take away the artificial lighting.
Did you know that natural light is a healer
When exposed to sunlight, the skin absorbs vitamin D, a critical nutrient that prevents bone loss and reduces the risk of heart disease, weight gain, and various cancers.
Sunlight also Improves Sleep
Since mental health and sleep often go hand in hand, it’s not surprising that natural light affects both.
How to get more natural light
With all the health benefits at stake, what can you do to let the sunshine in?
Mirror, mirror, on the wall help me shine light in my dark hall.
Mirrors are your secret weapon, they reflect light and makes your space grow, once you've let the light in, you will need to capture it and keep it in your home.
The best way to do this is using white spaces. White washed floors and windows, light shades for curtains and other textiles, light-coloured furniture... create as many white spaces as you can for the natural light to reflect off and use accent colours to add character and personality to your space.
Remember to see where your sun rays are coming from and place reflective objects in their path.
